Georgia is known worldwide for its many poets and writers. Among them were symbolist writers known for their patriotic, heroic and European spirit - “Tsisperkhantselebi” (Blue Horns). Blue for Europe, Horn for Georgian bohemian life. For their content pf poems they were repressed in the Soviet Union, but still fought for freedom to the end. Their weapons were pen, paper and talent.
Here are some of the most famous members:
Paolo Iashvili
Galaktion Tabidze
Valerian Gaprindashvili
Kolau Nadiradze
Totsian Tabidze
Even now, Georgia needs to gain closer connection with Europe. Young writers are still engaged in spreading European culture in Georgia. For more than six months we started new project - Tsisperkhantselebi (Blue horns), which is a kind of remake of the old one. Our goal is to accept the writings of debutant Symbolist writers and then promote them. We all have one thing in common - the desire for a European future.
