In pursuite of Kinizsi

Pál Kinizsi was one of the greatest heroes of the Hungarian history, an invincible general, a Maecenas of culture, and the Lord of Nagyvázsony (situated in the northern part of Lake Balaton). On the 550th anniversary of Pál Kinizsi's entry into the possession of Vázsonykő (ancient name of Nagyvázsony), an archaeological excavation will be launched, whose main aim is to find the remains of the invincible general and explore the local history of the village. The excavation is led by archaeologists and local historians under the age of 30. The excavation itself is open, which means that those anyone interested can get a guided tour around the site.
