The ThinkYoung Coding School started in Brussels, in the summer of 2016. Youth unemployment was at a record high but there were 1 million vacant jobs in the European IT industry due to lack of skills, creating a declining competitiveness within the European market. That is why ThinkYoung and Boeing decided to take action by starting the first edition of the ThinkYoung Coding School. The Coding School gives young individuals the opportunity to learn in-depth coding skills that can help inspire them down the path of STEM related jobs.
Since the pandemic, we have been able to continue our Coding School with slight differences. The school programme is designed by professionals to equip our next generation with up-to-date skills. Besides normal workshops, we have guest lecturers and practical activities that will be featured to inspire students about STEM.
The Coding Summer School, will provide 50 students with the unique experience of a school characterised by innovative approaches in non-formal educational settings, addressing the real needs of both the youth of today and the skills required by the industry.
