A First Step to Creating Change, "Volunteering"
This activity will introduce young people to volunteering as a strong way to develop themselves, gain international experience, and create meaningful connections.
During the activity, current and former international volunteers will share their personal journeys and explain how volunteering has influenced their lives and careers. Participants will learn about different volunteering opportunities, including local initiatives and international programmes such as the European Solidarity Corps (ESK).
The activity will consist of short interactive workshops with young participants, encouraging discussion, reflection, and exchange of ideas. Participants will have the chance to reflect on their own interests and motivations, ask questions, and explore how they can take their first steps into problem solving through volunteering.
As part of the workshops, participants will also be invited to identify challenges in their communities and think about how they can respond through volunteering. This process will encourage them to develop their own ideas for youth initiatives and see how small actions can grow into meaningful projects.
The goal is to inspire young people to see volunteering not only as helping others, but also as a life-changing experience for personal growth and a starting point for creating their own initiatives.
