Earlier this week, Erasmus+ Virtual Exchange successfully held a debate exchange fully in Arabic. The exchange took place between one team of German and Italian debaters, and one team of Algerian debaters. On the debate agenda was the interesting topic of assimilation vs. integration of migrants in host communities.

It was a challenging opportunity for participants to enhance their Arabic language skills, in addition to practising their debating skills in an online, intercultural environment. Participants gave encouraging feedback about their experience. As one of the Debate Team Leaders said afterwards:

"It was a great experience and my team was so happy that they had the chance to participate and some of us are also planning to continue our career in debating. We thank you so much for this great chance."  (Dominique, 24, Germany)
