Youth Policy Dialogue ‘Tackling Diabetes Together’

Youth Policy Dialogue with Commissioners Glenn Micallef and Olivér Várhelyi in presence of MEP Peter Agius

Glenn Micallef, Commissioner for Intergenerational Fairness, Youth, Culture, and Sport with the special participation of Olivér Várhelyi, Commissioner for Health and Animal Welfare and Maltese Member of the European Parliament Peter Agius, will hold a Youth Policy Dialogue on diabetes on 2 July 2025, in Brussels.

With the title 'Tackling Diabetes Together - Empowering young people to fight diabetes through awareness, prevention, and action', ten young people with diabetes from all over Europe have been invited to share their insights, personal experiences and ideas on this topic. 

The discussion will explore the impact of diabetes on these young people’s daily lives, mental well-being and social interactions. They will also focus on how EU policies and programmes can promote a healthier lifestyle and better serve young people affected by diabetes.

Overall, this Dialogue represents a meaningful opportunity to shape future policies that better support and empower young people living with diabetes across Europe.
