On 6 November 2025, the Youth and Volunteer Solidarity Unit in the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Education, Youth, Sport and Culture (DG EAC) organised the 3rd meeting of the EU Youth Stakeholders Group.

Stakeholders were informed about the progress of EU initiatives in the youth field - the Commission Youth Check, President’s Youth Advisory Board, Youth Policy Dialogues, European Youth Week 2026 and the development of the post-2027 EU Youth Strategy.

Moderated by Biliana Sirakova (EU Youth Coordinator in DG EAC), the meeting brought together 78 members of the EU Youth Stakeholders Group (member states’ representatives, national youth councils, European youth organisations, stakeholders and the EU institutions).

The members shared their priorities and upcoming initiatives in a virtual roundtable.

Maria Christodoulou and Stella Rousou from the Youth Board of Cyprus presented the priorities of the upcoming Cyprus EU Presidency.

In the second half of the meeting, stakeholders learned about the EU decision-making process and the Skills Portability Initiative, which will undergo the Youth Check process.

Veerle Cumps (Deputy Head of Unit, Secretariat-General) presented on the internal decision-making process, covering the legislative cycle and opportunities for stakeholder involvement via the ‘Have Your Say’ portal.

Koen Nomden, Vera Leuner, and William Okeeffe (DG EMPL) introduced the Skills Portability Initiative, outlining its main actions and inviting stakeholder input through breakout sessions. Stakeholders were encouraged to participate in a focus group/interview for a study linked to the Skills Portability Initiative.

The presentations along with a detailed meeting report will be available on the dedicated page on the European Youth Portal
