Are you passionate about the future of our ocean? Here is your chance to share your ideas and help shape ocean policy in line with the European Ocean Pact!

On 19 March 2026, Costas Kadis, Commissioner for Fisheries and Oceans, and Glenn Micallef, Commissioner for Intergenerational Fairness, Youth, Culture, and Sport, will host a Youth Policy Dialogue on ocean matters with around 30 young people in Cyprus. 

Titled ‘Young Voices for the Ocean’, young participants will have the opportunity to share their opinions, concerns and recommendations on (1) Attracting youth to the blue economy, (2) Youth perspectives on the future of fisheries and aquaculture, and (3) Underwater cultural heritage. 

How to apply

Complete the application form via the EUSurvey by 7 December 2025 (midnight CET), including: 

  • Your full name, nationality, occupation, and contact details.
  • Your topic of choice plus a brief response (maximum 200 words).
  • Optional: Membership of a youth organisation, related to ocean matters or not. 

Selected participants will be invited to attend at least one online preparatory meeting prior to the dialogue. 

Who can participate 

EU citizens aged 18-30 who are: 

  • currently residing in the EU.
  • have a good command of English.
  • are available to attend in-person in Cyprus on 19 March 2026.
  • haven’t previously participated in a Youth Policy Dialogue.
What’s included
