Youth Sounding Board

Última actualización Viernes, 21/04/2023

The European Commission seeks advice from young people on EU external action and international cooperation.

The Youth Sounding Board (YSB) is a space for you to have an influence on EU external action and international partnerships. It aims to create a real, fundamental, long-lasting change in how the EU engages with young people in its development cooperation.

The YSB will advise the Commissioner for International Partnerships and the Directorate-General for International Partnerships on youth participation and empowerment in the field of EU international partnerships and on EU external action on topics such as climate, environment and energy, digital and infrastructure, gender equality, human development, migration and forced displacement, peace and governance, sustainable growth and jobs.

The Youth Sounding Board will be composed of 25 young people from across the world (Africa, the Pacific, the Middle East, Latin America and the Caribbean, and Europe).
Candidates with special needs, disabilities, in a situation of vulnerability or from minority groups are encouraged to apply.

You can apply if you:
  • are between the age of 18-30 (by 26 April 2023);
  • have a good command of English;
  • hold the nationality of or be a resident in one of the eligible countries

You can apply regardless of your level of formal education, therefore university studies are not a requirement. You can apply individually or be nominated by an organisation.

How much time

The Youth Sounding Board members will commit for two years, and the approximate workload will take 25 days a year. They will have at least three meetings per year (online) both in person in Brussels and virtually.
This is an unpaid mandate. However, travel and other related expenses will be covered.

To make your voice heard: apply before 26 April 2023, 23:59 CEST!
