CESIE will host 6 EVS volunteers through the project YOUTH CROSSROADS starting from May 2019. the mobilities will last for 12 months, the project aim is to promote active citizenship, social inclusion and solidarity of all young people by involving them with different social background groups. Mobility and volunteering are among the most powerful educational tools for integration, supporting the acquisition of these skills, competencies and values important also for entering in any working field. Youth crossroads aim to build up with young volunteers, receiving organisations, reception centres and high schools a positive relation and interaction model, carrying out integration paths among local, with migrant background and new arrived (mainly unaccompanied minors) young people.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

Volunteers will be hosted in flats in a double room with a volunteer of the same gender, located in city centres; the flat includes a shared kitchen, toilet and bathroom, Wi-Fi. All local organizations that collaborate with CESIE are in the city center. Most of them are maximum 15 minutes by foot from the accommodations. In case of far distances, CESIE will cover the cost of the public local transport. At the beginning of each month, CESIE will provide food money (175 euro per month) and pocket money (120 euro); the volunteers.

Training during the activity

OAT at CESIE office and at national level provided by ENAIP & Amesci MTE at CESIE and at national level provided by CEMEA del Lazio Final evaluation at CESIE. Online linguistic course and 40 hours of an Italian language course at the Italian language institute.

Participant profile

- 18 -30 years old - english language (level B2) - interested in the main theme of the project; Migrants, Integration of refugees, youth - basic knowledge & experiences in the field of EU projects (ERASMUS+ program) - strong motivation to undertake an intercultural experience -volunteers will have the chance to develop teamwork competencies and analysis of internal working dynamics of project management and project writing; -They will gain knowledge of European programmes, calls and policies, sports activities to integrate young people non-formal learning.
