The school offers a specially designed 3 year education based on the students individual competences and challenges. The school operates under the law commonly known as STU. The special planned youth education is given to all young people who cannot complete a normal youth education even with extra assistance and adapted curriculum. At Limfjordsskolen we have 42 students, 11 teachers and 25 social workers. Each student has a room of their own and live in family groups of up till 13 other students. The young people who all have severe learning difficulties stays at the school for up till 3 years and come from all over the Northern part of Denmark. .
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
You will share an appartment with other ESC volunteers in the area, either in the town of Loegstoer or at the project. Cost for food and for transport related to work, language school and Dansk ICYE arrangements are covered by hosting and coordinating organisations.
Training during the activity
On Arrival and Midterm training arranged by the Danish NA Camps and events arranged by Dansk ICYE
Participant profile
We are looking for young people who are interested in working with young people with dissabilites – both in the sense of teaching, but also through different practical actvities. Especially in the creative sphere – music, drama and sports. We are open to volunteers from all countries who can speak English, German, Danish or the Scandinavian languages. Driving licence holders preferred.
