We are a youth centre in the city of Waidhofen/Ybbs in Lower-Austria, Austria. Our organization is a non-profit organization and part of the local government. During the opening hours from Wednesday to Saturday the youth centre is open for all young people from 13 to 21 years to spend their leisure time there. Within these hours we offer different activities like games, internet, music, sports, art-workshops, etc. Overall it is a meeting point for young people. All our services are for free. The staff team provides information on several topics, like family problems, law, sexuality, drugs, school, job, etc. All kinds of problems can be addressed in professional counseling. The work in the youth center follows a thematic concept, which was created according to quality standards of youth work. The aim of the EVS project is to increase our activities for young people, to bring in an “intercultural dimension” to our daily work, to broaden the horizon of the team and our visitors.
Beitrag zu Unterbringung, Verpflegung und Reisekosten
Accommodation in a single room in a students house with a little kitchen and a private bathroom, close to the working place and the town centre. From the coordinating organisation a monthly pocket money (210 EUR / month), meal allowance (390 EUR / month) and a flat rate for public transport expenses is provided. A rental bike is provided.

Teilnehmerprofil
The volunteer should like to work and to talk with young people, even if they are not the easiest to handle with. She/he should be mature, self motivated, open minded and socialize easily. The volunteer should be able to work in a team and acknowledge others.
