Arabkir Medical Center
VOLUNTARY SERVICE OF ARMENIA - REPUBLICAN HEADQUARTERS OF STUDENT BRIGADES NGO
Arabkir Medical Center
Yerevan, Arménie
Description
"Arabkir" Medical Center stands as the largest pediatric facility in Armenia, dedicated to providing comprehensive medical services encompassing prevention, diagnostics, and treatment of various childhood deceases. The primary objective of the project is to engage with hospitalized children at "Arabkir" Medical Center. Volunteer responsibilities include: • Assisting children in arts workshops and supporting staff in organizing activities such as painting and sculpting. • Facilitating basic foreign language classes. • Showcasing their cultural heritage through dance, musical events, and teaching traditional songs. • Conducting workshops on diverse topics of interest. • Organizing approved excursions, outdoor activities, as well as sports events, themed evenings, and meetings. This project is conducted with the support of the Voluntary Service of Armenia HUJ and spans a duration of 8-12 months.
Modalités d'hébergement, de restauration et de transport
The volunteers will be provided with convenient accommodation: the dormitory of a university in Yerevan, near the city center, featuring same-gendered rooms with two occupants each, shared bathroom, and a spacious kitchen. This cozy dormitory is equipped with all necessities and ensures safety. Approximately 19 long-term ESC volunteers from different European countries reside in the dormitory. On the first of each month, volunteers receive a monthly allowance, sent by HUJ to their bank cards, covering their pocket money, food, transportation, and internet expenses.
Formation pendant l’activité
Upon the volunteer's arrival at the airport, they will receive a warm welcome by their mentor. Following this, an introductory meeting will be held at the HUJ office, where the organizational staff will formally greet the volunteers and assist in essential procedures for their stay in Yerevan (obtaining an Armenian phone number, a physical bank card, and arranging a meeting with their assigned mentor). During their mobility in Yerevan, volunteers will engage in two training sessions - an on-arrival and a mid-term training - organized by SALTO in Georgia.
Profil du participant
There are no gender restrictions regarding the selection/recruitment of volunteers. As per the ESC guide, the age of the volunteer should range from 18-30. The volunteer should be interested or have some experience in working with children; he/she should be enthusiastic, responsible, respectful, thoughtful and reliable. The main criterion for the choice of the volunteer-to-be are the activities they have planned for the project.
