Description
Keskipiste-Leader works with many small and local operators in rural areas and the idea is to place volunteer in some of those to work. These local operators are for example municipalities' youth work and other well-being sector. The role of volunteer is dependent on which local operator they will work. Work for volunteer would be very versatile but usually it would be with children and youth and/or culture. Volunteer will learn the Finnish way to do youth work and get many new contacts. Volunteer would see the lifestyle of true Finnish countryside and get to know people who are living in it. In this project volunteer will work with local people in Nivala municipality, with about 10 000 inhabitants. Working will be well-being related services for the inhabitants, like library services, sports facilities, activities for the youth, and different events including concerts, plays and art exhibitions.The aim is to increase the overall well-being of local people.
Modalités d'hébergement, de restauration et de transport
Volunteer will live in a shared or separate flat. Volunteers will receive bicycle to move around area, if needed. Pocket money is 210 € / month (7 € / day) . Some days lunch is provided or possible to buy, additional money is given to buy own food for weekends and evenings. Volunteers must understand that they are coming in total countryside with long distances from bigger towns. Winter can be cold and very dark in Finland.
Formation pendant l’activité
Volunteer can attend to national trainings. Mentoring will be provided and there will be daily support with the working tasks.
Profil du participant
It's important that volunteer is interested in living and working in countryside. Working hours differ from typical and there will be voluntary work in the evenings and weekends. Volunteers need to be flexible on working hours. Anyone can apply the placement, applicants are free to send us their CV and motivation letter via e-mail (evs@keskipisteleader.fi). Selection for the most suitable volunteer is made in co-operation with local operators. The decision will be based on motivation.
