Description
Are you passionate about environmental sustainability? Do you want to be part of a project that responds to climate change and makes a real difference? Then this project is for you! Teams4e aims to enhance the engagement and active citizenship of young people from Europe and Palestine, particularly those facing economic, social, and cultural obstacles, by involving them in high-quality solidarity activities that address environmental challenges. As a member of the volunteering team, you will collaborate with local and international young volunteers for 2 months, countering land degradation by planting new trees and ensuring they are regularly watered to improve the overall land condition. By participating in this project, you will get the opportunity to enhance your understanding of active citizenship, gain social, civil and cultural skills, boost your professional skills and help create more inclusive procedures for volunteers.
Modalités d'hébergement, de restauration et de transport
You will be staying in Bethlehem city in a hostel with other volunteers involved in the project. Flights to and from Palestine, local travel, vaccinations/medical checks, insurance and one meal per day will also be provided. In addition, you will receive a monthly subsistence lump sum of €88,5 per month (€177 over 2 months) as pocket money.
Formation pendant l’activité
ActionAid Hellas will deliver a pre-departure training to all volunteers which will address logistical arrangements and matters relating to safeguarding, safety and security. ActionAid Hellas will also provide online English courses prior to the deployment for those requiring additional support. ActionAid Palestine will deliver on-arrival training for volunteers and appoint a volunteer mentor to oversee the induction, cultural integration, accommodation, and the provision of a safe and healthy living/working environment. All sessions will be in English.
Profil du participant
The volunteer must be: - aged 18-30 and an EU citizen/third country national who is a long-term resident in an EU member state - committed to ActionAid values and principles of volunteerism - able to work in a multicultural environment and uphold diversity standards - culturally sensitive, diplomatic and able to compromise - comfortable working in an energetic environment and have strong interpersonal and organizational skills Previous experience in climate justice or environmental related issues will be considered an advantage.
