Description
The project “Healthy Social Volunteering: ESC for active lifestyle, citizenship and social equity” aims to encourage young people participation, and it will focus on migration and refugees, social inclusion, active and healthy lifestyle on socially vulnerable fragile groups. The team volunteering will be in an almond field confiscated to mafia (in the rural area near Caltanissetta, Sicily). Volunteers will be involved in the following activities: harvesting in the almond field, workshops on recycling, reuse and eco-sustainability, workshops about legality and the fight against the mafia. ESC volunteers will implement these activities together with the young migrants hosted by the refugee centre I Girasoli. ONLY pre-selected candidates will be contacted.
Ordninger for innkvartering, mat og transport
Accommodation will be in a building managed by the refugee center I GIRASOLI. Volunteers will sleep in shared room (dormitory style). Shared bathroom and shower. Food will be provided by the hosting organisation; volunteers in groups will cook their meals. No wi-fi connection in the building. Be aware of the basic conditions.

Participant profile
Volunteers should be: interested in supporting organizations working with and for vulnerable people; interested in the topic of the project (social inclusion, integrations, migrants and refugees, rural development); ready to interact with people with different cultural, social and economic background; willing to actively participate, be flexible, keen on manual work; open-minded, sociable, empathetic.
