Cook and logistic help for Youth Summer Camps

Koning Kevin is a Flemish youth organization that aims to provide young people with fun and educational summer camps. As a volunteer, you can help make this possible by joining our "Cook for Youth Summer Camps" project. We are last minute looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated individual who is willing to prepare delicious meals for our campers and contribute by helping with materials to make our summer camps an unforgettable experience. As a Camp Cook & Logistics Volunteer at Koning Kevin, You’ll mostly help organize, sort, and reset materials and play equipment to keep each camp running smoothly. You'll also help load in the truck with materials and help with picking up and at various locations in Belgium. This way you can also explore Belgium more. You’ll have one or twee weeks preparing meals for groups of up to 36 children and young people during our holiday camps. You can travel more around Belgium or other countries during the free week and extra days you'll get.

Alojamiento, manutención y transporte

You will stay at our 'yellow castle'. => https://maps.app.goo.gl/nQSnKF1f4ky6qmpZA You'll have a shared bedroom with another ESC volunteer. The kitchen and bathroom will also be shared with children and educators who have camp at the yellow castle. You'll get €7/day for food if you are not cooking for groups. When cooking you will eat with the whole team. You'll get €6/day pocketmoney. For transport you'll get a bike and a bus subscription. The travel payment will depend on the distance of your country to here. IMPORTANT: you'll need a sending organization before applying.

Formación durante la actividad

You'll start with introduction to the surroundings and your volunteering for the summer. You'll get a work coach that will follow up with you and support u throughout the whole project. There are also a lot of general workers in the organization to support when needed. You'll also have an evaluation in the middle of the project to discuss the project and your role. There will be local volunteers that will help with getting to know the place.

Perfil del participante

Requirements: - Experience in cooking for large groups is preferred but not required - Somebody who is not afraid to support with physical help - Willingness to share a room and share bathroom and kitchen - A passion for cooking and working with young people - Ability to work in a team and take direction - Good communication and organizational skills - A positive and enthusiastic attitude.
