Ever imagined swapping your daily routine for six months of adventure in northern Portugal? Amarante is calling! Join Casa da Juventude de Amarante as an ESC volunteer and dive into hands-on projects: organise events, support local and international initiatives, teach pilates or yoga to seniors, create art and handcrafts with schools and elderly groups, or paint murals that transform public spaces. Feeling adventurous? Spend time at our local organic farm, learn from a real bio farmer and hang out with the animals. You will live in a charming riverside town near Porto, make friends from across Europe, and grow skills that look great on any CV. Food, accommodation, pocket money and travel are all covered. Modalités d'hébergement, de restauration et de transport
Home during your stay is a cosy shared apartment or house in Amarante's city centre (or near the youth centre), or the Youth Village: private or shared rooms, bathrooms, a kitchen, and free laundry at the youth centre. Food here is a real highlight: Casa da Juventude runs its own vegetarian restaurant, serving fresh, home-style vegetarian meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner, Monday–Saturday) with eggs, milk, seitan, tofu and more, plus one non-vegetarian dinner a week. On Sundays, you get €40/month to explore Amarante's food scene on your own.

Profil du participant
We're looking for volunteers who are open, flexible and enjoy trying a variety of activities. Ideal candidates have an interest in event creation, supporting local and international projects, sport for seniors (pilates, yoga), and handcraft/art work with schools, the elderly and active-ageing groups, plus a willingness to propose mural painting for public spaces. Comfort working alongside people with disabilities, the elderly, and children is valued. Volunteers should be team-oriented, adaptable to a rural setting (faming work), and motivated by inclusion: full support is provided by a tutor and local partners throughout.
