Description
This is a long-term EVS project lasting 12 months in Ozalj, rural city near Karlovac (Croatia). Main topics of activities are: youth work, creativity through various tasks and activities, local workshops and activities, developing rural comunities and giving them more content. Tasks of the volunteers: - working on every day activities of LAG which includes youth work, workshops for youth/pupils, preparing activities for youth exchanges, projects about volunteering - writing a blog, FB posts about his project and hosting town/country - developing activities and workshops for local community (language course) - making videos and taking pictures of his/her/organisations activities - cooperation with library/school - personal projects - activities with other EVS volunteers in other towns Volunteers will work in Ozalj 30-35 h/week, weekends are free. Our organisation LAG Vallis Colapis is situated in Ozalj where volunteers will be accomodated.
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
Volunteers will share a flat with each other in Ozalj. The apartment has two separate rooms, kitchen, bathroom and balcony. Walking distance between apartment and organisation is 1 minute. Each month volunteers will receive money for food and additionally pocket money. Ozalj is very small and public transportation is not very good, but if necessary volunteers will be provided with a train ticket if needed for their activities. Although all field work will be done in cooperation with the supervizor and other employees.
Training during the activity
Volunteers will attend on-arrival and mid-term training organized by Croatian NA where they will be able to meet other volunteers who are also doing their EVS in Croatia. Once a week they will have Croatian language course.
Participant profile
We are looking for 1 young person 18-30 from Estonia who is interested in youth work, learning how the NGO works and with local institiuions (library) for 9 months. He/she needs to have good communication skills, be independent in individual work but who is also able to work in a team and willing to learn new things. He/she should also be responsible, reliable, open-minded, friendly and tolerant. The level of education and work experience is not important. Volunteer should be able to communicate in English.
