Description
Planeta Alecrim is a small non-profit Learning Community for Education and Social Innovation. The main activity of this association arose from the need of a group of parents to create a supportive community for the education of their children in this rural region and it has been active since September 2017. It is a space for learning and personal development, especially in basic education, in areas such as reading, writing, mathematics, history, science, sports and arts.

Formation pendant l’activité
At the same time, we want to develop more open activities for the community in general, through social and cultural actions. Extending the educational practice beyond the school is a goal and we aim to create a Learning Community. That is, to work with education as a collective act, actively involving the community in the consolidation of a fairer, more participatory society capable of motivating a profound cultural transformation.
Profil du participant
• Availability and motivation to work with children and teenagers; • Being interested in the educational and pedagogical context; • Motivation to adapt to a rural and interior context for 6 months; • Motivation to communicate with locals, be flexible and open-minded; • Sensitivity to issues of multiculturalism, diversity, inclusion and motivation to deepen their knowledge in the field of community work; • Willingness to learn Portuguese, practice English with the Planeta Alecrim community, as well as sharing your own native language, in an informal and peer learning process;
