Crooked House Theatre Company
Newbridge, Irlande
Description
Community Theatre Making is a European Solidarity Corps project. It is a volunteering programme based in Newbridge, Ireland for young actors aged between 23 and 30. The volunteers work with our theatre company, providing free drama and film-making workshops to teenagers and community groups in our community. The volunteers support all areas of the theatre company, from administration to directing plays. In return, the project will train the actors in the process of drama facilitation so that they can enhance their employability by gaining valuable new skills. Volunteers will facilitate theatre workshops with teenagers, refugees, community groups and people with additional physical and intellectual needs. You MUST be an actor to be considered and you should be aged 23 to 30. ... IMPORTANT: In order to apply you must use the Google Drive Form here: https://forms.gle/cnx4tscdYCtCrqJg9 .. .. .. NO OTHER APPLICATIONS WILL BE CONSIDERED (including those to this ESC page here).
Modalités d'hébergement, de restauration et de transport
We host our volunteers with families that we know. It is usually not possible, financially, to rent houses for volunteers only, as the cost is well beyond the budget that we receive, and we also must rent it for a full year. Volunteers receive an allowance monthly for food and expenses. Their travel costs to/from Ireland are covered, and if they need a visa we pay for this (travel and visa costs are limited to a budget).
Formation pendant l’activité
Volunteers are trained in Drama Facilitation; Child Protection; and Devising Drama. Other opportunities for training arise every year, and most of them are free (youth studies, drama practices, directing etc).
