Description
The volunteer will be actively involved in the Municipality of Ribadavia's Youth Centre, fostering European awareness and cultural understanding among local youth. With a focus on Erasmus+ initiatives, the volunteer will collaborate with the community on cultural, educational, environmental, and youth projects. Working in conjunction with local associations and institutions, they will contribute to organizing cultural events at both local and international levels. Special emphasis will be placed on youth information dissemination at various levels, encouraging active participation in local decision-making. The ESC provides opportunities for volunteers to engage in diverse local events, including festivals, podcasts, and ecological projects.
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
Ribadavia volunteers receive a 160€ monthly allowance for boarding, stay in a well-equipped flat, and get a 150€ leisure allowance. They're covered by the European Solidarity Corps insurance, and travel costs are reimbursed for sustainable travel. This support enables volunteers to focus on their community contributions worry-free. The ESC volunteers will live in a flat in Ribadavia in their single room and will be sharing the flat with other volunteers. The flat has four bedrooms, a living room, a kitchen, two bathrooms and a balcony. Furthermore all items necessary for living are provided.
Training during the activity
Ribadavia's volunteers receive comprehensive training and support. Before arrival, they get information about the region and connect with past volunteers. The first week involves settling in activities and life skills training. Ongoing support includes a designated tutor and regular meetings to address integration challenges. The adaptation process focuses initially on language classes and observation, progressing to more hands-on work. Volunteers also have opportunities to attend workshops and training sessions to enhance their activities.
