Description
Bazeilles High School is a public high school focused on education for the hotel trade, restaurant industry and tourism. They provide vocational training for pupils aged between 15 and 20. The school is located in a rural environment, in a town of 2,000 inhabitants. The school offers its students, teachers and workers the opportunity to get involved in international projects, to develop a sense of European citizenship and identity. The volunteer supports the learning of foreign languages with non-formal methods. The volunteer helps to implement different intercultural activities such as building up the knowledge about Erasmus+ exchange possibilities, introducing his/her culture by various means, organizing sport events, movie evenings with discussions in English or German, integration days for new students etc. A lot of activities are based on non-formal education methods outside of the classroom as a tool to improve their foreign language skills and to learn about other cultures.
Modalités d'hébergement, de restauration et de transport
The volunteer will live in a flat on the campus which will be fully furnished. The volunteer will receive money for food, transport and pocket money. The volunteer will have his/her holidays during school holidays.
Formation pendant l’activité
During the mission of the volunteer there will be 2 training Formations. The first one is called the 'Welcome Formation' which is held for 4-5 days in one city of France (not decided yet). And the second which is called 'The midterm Formation' which is 3-4 days in another city in the middle of the volunteering period.
Profil du participant
The volunteer must be interested in Education and especially in vocational training in the field of restaurant and tourism. He/she should be able to take initiative and communicate easily with students. An essential skill will be basic knowledge in French. He/She should also consider the rural environment and the difficulties with local transport. Finally, Bazeilles High school expects to host a volunteer with good linguistics (mainly German, English, French) and intercultural capacities.
