Description
The Department of International Relations and Development Cooperation of the Senate Chancellery of the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen is responsible for city partnerships, international networks and development cooperation. This is where the international relations of the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen come together and are coordinated. As a volunteer you will have an opportunity to: Work in a multicultural group of experts from different areas, help strengthen partnerships with youth exchanges, reach new target groups through social media or help increase the visibility of the networking activities of the international work in Bremen and develop your own ideas and turn them into a project. As “Youth Ambassador” you will represent your home town, the twin city in the country where you are from or you feel connected to. Moreover you can get to know the administrative apparatus of Bremen and will have the opportunity to take part in (international) events.
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
You will be accommodated in your own room a flat in Bremen with 4 other ESC volunteers. Bremen is a city in North-West Germany (around 500.000 inhabitants), not far from the North Sea coast. It is a vibrant, multi-cultural city with a lot of young people and both a historical center and newer areas of towns. As an ESC volunteer, you will receive health insurance, 180€ monthly pocket money, 266€ for living expenses. Travel costs will be reimbursed depending on the travel distance (normally between 180€-360€).
Training during the activity
In the beginning of your stay with us in Bremen, you will have a weekly meeting with your mentor to learn how everything works and you will develop your skills on the way! You will also participate in the On-Arrival and Mid-term trainings with all volunteers in Germany as well as a training with all new volunteers hosted and coordinated by NaturKultur e.V.
