If you are someone who thrives in social events, enjoys cultural exchange, and is comfortable striking up conversations with kids and teenagers, then you might be just who we're looking for! We are Community, a French non-profit organization located in Arques (Hauts-de-France, near Saint-Omer). Our goal is to strengthen social bonds within our local community by empowering people of all ages and backgrounds through creative, inclusive, and educational projects. We promote values such as human dignity, respect, solidarity, and intercultural dialogue. At Community, we’re looking for a dynamic and friendly volunteer who enjoys being part of social events, connecting with children and teenagers, and discovering diverse cultures. The volunteering must start on the 5th of January 2026 for a minimum of 4 months.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

Accommodation: You will live in a lovely shared house with other volunteers (2 or 3), located just 10 minutes’ walk from the association. You’ll have your own private bedroom. Transport: You will be provided with a bus subscription and a train discount card for regional travel. Health Insurance: You will be covered by the ESC program insurance, and we recommend obtaining a European Health Insurance Card before departure. Financial Support: The association will help you open a French bank account, where you’ll receive your monthly food allowance and pocket money (around 400€ per month).

Training during the activity

Participation in both the arrival training and mid-term training is expected. If additional training sessions for both employees and non-employees are organized, it will be offered to the volunteers the opportunity to participate if they would like to.

Participant profile

Volunteer Profile: - Between 18 and 30 years old - Open-minded and sociable, able to connect with people from different backgrounds and cultures - Creative, autonomous, and comfortable interacting with children and teenagers - Interested in gaining international experience and discovering new ways of life (past travel or international experience is a plus!) - Willing to learn or improve their French, which will be the main language used in the project - Values of solidarity and respect - Ability to speak about intercultural topics and to adapt the wording according to the audience - Knowledge on project management, social media management are appreciated As a Volunteer, Your Tasks Will Be: - Design and run interactive activities and games for children and teenagers, focusing on different countries and cultures. These workshops will aim to raise awareness and help young people develop a more open-minded and empathetic perspective on topics such as gender, stereotypes, discrimination, and diversity. - Promote International Youth Mobility programs. You’ll take part in info sessions about the European Solidarity Corps (ESC), helping young people understand the opportunities available and guiding them toward projects that match their interests. - Support the team in developing new international partnerships, especially those related to youth exchanges and cooperation projects. - Take part in local events organized by the association and contribute to their planning and execution (festivals, cultural days, community gatherings...). - Help create engaging content for social media, sharing your experience and promoting our activities.
