If you enjoy working with children, being creative, and bringing energy to activities, this project might be perfect for you! We are Community, a French non-profit organization located in Arques, near Saint-Omer in northern France. Our association works to strengthen social connections within the local community through educational, cultural, and inclusive activities. In this project, children are the main focus of the mission. The volunteer will work directly with children by organizing engaging and creative activities that help them discover cultures and countries from around the world. Through games, storytelling, costumes, role-play, and interactive workshops, the goal is to make children travel through imagination and spark their curiosity about the world. Volunteers are expected to create dynamic and participatory activities where children are actively involved.
Comparticipação nas despesas de alojamento, alimentação e transporte
Accommodation: You will live in a lovely shared house with other volunteers (2 or 3), located just 10 minutes’ walk from the association. You’ll have your own private bedroom. Transport: You will be provided with a bus subscription and a train discount card for regional travel. Health Insurance: You will be covered by the ESC program insurance, and we recommend obtaining a European Health Insurance Card before departure. Financial Support: The association will help you open a French bank account, where you’ll receive your monthly food allowance and pocket money (around 400€ per month).
Formação durante a atividade
Participation in both the arrival training and mid-term training is expected. If additional training sessions for both employees and non-employees are organized, it will be offered to the volunteers the opportunity to participate if they would like to. French class are delivered every week by the Red Cross in the association premises. Perfil do participante
Volunteer Profile: - Between 18 and 30 years old - Open-minded and sociable, able to connect with people from different backgrounds and cultures - Creative, autonomous, and comfortable interacting with children and teenagers - Interested in gaining international experience and discovering new ways of life (past travel or international experience is a plus!) - Willing to learn or improve their French, which will be the main language used in the project - Values of solidarity and respect - Ability to speak about intercultural topics and to adapt the wording according to the audience - Knowledge on project management, social media management are appreciated As a Volunteer, Your Tasks Will Be: - Design and run interactive activities and games for children and teenagers, focusing on different countries and cultures. These workshops will aim to raise awareness and help young people develop a more open-minded and empathetic perspective on topics such as gender, stereotypes, discrimination, and diversity. - Promote International Youth Mobility programs. You’ll take part in info sessions about the European Solidarity Corps (ESC), helping young people understand the opportunities available and guiding them toward projects that match their interests. - Support the team in developing new international partnerships, especially those related to youth exchanges and cooperation projects. - Take part in local events organized by the association and contribute to their planning and execution (festivals, cultural days, community gatherings...). - Help create engaging content for social media, sharing your experience and promoting our activities.
