Here at Maison de l'Europe Bordeaux-Aquitaine (MEBA), we defend the idea that the European spirit is forged from simple daily actions that shape the common European identity. It's been already 9 years the MEBA carries out the project ‘Ambassadors of European values’ launched on the occasion of the Euro 2016, aiming to contribute to creation of a better and more peaceful environment through solidarity, team spirit, joy and optimism. A new 'green' dimension will be added to our project in September and this volunteering mission will thus include: presentation of European countries, their culture, heritage, languages and politics through educational workshops at schools (primary-secondary-high schools), linguistic cafés, radio shows, organization of cultural events, creation of social media contents, participation at big events organized by the city, promotion of active citizenship, sustainability, environmental inclusion and solidarity in our society. Alojamiento, manutención y transporte
Your future flat is situated at a student residence in the neighbourhood of La Bastide in Bordeaux. The flat is shared by two, each of you having your own private room. The living-room with kitchen and bathroom are shared, mutual respect is therefore required from both flatmates. Your monthly allowance is 450€, laundry is not included, but the local transport card is provided as well as access to the OLS platform to improve your language skills. You'll be part of a group of 12 volunteers coming from different countries, so in case of difficulty, you'll always have someone to count on! :)
Formación durante la actividad
As every other volunteer, you will participate at the on-arrival and midterm seminaries organized by the French National Agency. The first 2 months are dedicated to training including: discovery of the city and its heritage, workshops on intercultural learning and techniques of workshops' animation, radio, video and visual facilitation trainings, courses on the EU and notions of (eco)citizenship, etc. After that, an active phase of the project begins -> the so-called interventions. At MEBA, EVERY WEEK IS DIFFERENT & our timetable is rather DYNAMIC, but that's why you can just hardly get bored!
Perfil del participante
We're looking for someone who's not afraid to CREATE and CONDUCT educational workshops, ENTERTAIN youngsters & SPEAK in public. To say a word or two on the RADIO? Yes, that'll be one of your tasks... and teaching the public your beautiful native LANGUAGE as well! Having a POSITIVE attitude (not only) towards biking is an advantage! You need to be FLEXIBLE & ADAPTABLE as our timetable changes based on needs of our partners. But most IMPORTANTLY, we're looking for a MOTIVATED & RESPECTFUL people knowing some basics of FRENCH, as this is our working language. Do you meet ALL the criteria? APPLY
