Description
The CPMGA is a feminist organization with 40 years of experience working for women's rights in Bolivia. The volunteer will support the following activities: Accompaniment and programming of activities at the CPMGA Feminist Leadership School, with supervision and feedback on training sessions for women leaders; Support in the design and implementation of CPMGA's promotion and advocacy proposals, assisting in the implementation of their strategic lines; Systematization of citizen participation activities in various municipalities and compilation of reports; Advising social and women's organizations in the preparation of documents and strategies; Participation in community networks and platforms. These tasks will be carried out at the office in El Alto, from Monday to Friday, and when necessary, on weekends, with occasional travel to intervention municipalities. The volunteer will work 35 hours per week, with two days off per month, and will always have the support of the staff.
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
The Gregoria Apaza Women's Promotion Center offers accommodation with a private room for the volunteer. CPMGA will ensure basic services such as water, energy, and internet. The accommodation will be located in a residential area of La Paz, facilitating access to El Alto, where the CPMGA office is located, via the cable car. The area is safe and close to medical services, supermarkets, and recreational areas, ensuring comfort and well-being during the stay. Additionally, options for vegetarians and vegans are available.
Training during the activity
The volunteer will receive training in providing support for women who have suffered violence, using active participation strategies. They will learn procedures for the guidance and attention to cases of violence, following cases of denunciation, investigations and systematizing monthly reports on care in various municipalities in Bolivia. They will gain certified linguistic knowledge through the OLS platform, develop intercultural capacity and awareness, problem-solving skills, and understanding of the humanitarian context. All acquired competencies will be certified through the Youth Pass.
Participant profile
A person with abilities to work in a team, listen and engage in effective dialogue, with a strong volunteer attitude. It is essential that the candidate promotes feminism and values of justice and solidarity, supporting women in cases of violence. They are preferable: experience in monitoring and supporting social organizations in advocacy and political impact; education in political science, political or social advocacy, or related fields; knowledge or specialization in human rights and/or gender; ability to use logical frameworks and draft studies; skills in drafting policy proposals.
