Description

Lithuanian NGDO Platform, in partnership with Volunteers Initiative Nepal, is implementing #Vol4HumAid project to enhance disaster preparedness, response, and recovery in Nepal's Okhaldhunga region. Nepal is prone to natural disasters such as earthquakes, floods, landslides, fires, and avalanches due to its geographic location, topography, and climatic conditions. The project aims to create a safer and more resilient community through risk assessments, early warning systems, capacity building, and community-based disaster management. Volunteers will contribute in forming and training disaster management committees in municipalities; increasing disaster risk reduction knowledge and ideas among schools and communities; enhancing early warning and response systems for floods and landslides; increasing community participation in disaster risk reduction activities. Deployment is planned from May-June, 2025. Read more: https://vbplatforma.org/LT/projektai/vol_humaid/1083
