Apraksts
Lithuanian NGDO Platform, in partnership with Volunteers Initiative Nepal, is implementing #Vol4HumAid project to enhance disaster preparedness, response, and recovery in Nepal's Okhaldhunga region. Nepal is prone to natural disasters such as earthquakes, floods, landslides, fires, and avalanches due to its geographic location, topography, and climatic conditions. The project aims to create a safer and more resilient community through risk assessments, early warning systems, capacity building, and community-based disaster management. Volunteers will contribute in forming and training disaster management committees in municipalities; increasing disaster risk reduction knowledge and ideas among schools and communities; enhancing early warning and response systems for floods and landslides; increasing community participation in disaster risk reduction activities. Dzīvošana, ēdināšana un transports
Accommodation will be arranged at the project site, with volunteers living together. Volunteers will receive pocket money, which also covers three meals per day. Travel costs, including round-trip flight tickets, airport meet and greet, and transportation to and from the volunteering site, will be covered.
Mācības pasākuma laikā
Volunteers will receive pre-departure training from the sending organization and on-arrival training from the hosting organization. They will also conduct mid-term and final evaluations. During the placement, volunteers will be supported by coordinators from both the sending and hosting organizations. All participants are eligible for language learning support through the Online Language Support Platform.
Dalībnieka profils
We are looking for volunteers who are between the age of 18 to 35 and: have background or are interested in DRR and Sustainability; are willing to conduct workshops and training; have research skills; with positive attitude and motivation to learn.
