Description
Paz y Esperanza is a human rights organization, with Christian inspiration, that works with children, adolescents, women, people with disabilities and indigenous populations, so that they can be free from different forms of violence and injustice. The mission involves analyzing the results of Paz y Esperanza's interventions in order to capitalize on its good practices with a sociological and historical approach. The tasks include support in: - the processing of statistical, photographic and audiovisual data for the informative archive of reports and bulletins. -The processes of capitalization of information and experiences with people with disabilities, migrants, indigenous peoples and children at risk. There will be field visits to conduct interviews with leaders of the institution and members of civil society with whom Paz y Esperanza works, and the possibility of participating in events and meetings related to the project.
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
Paz y Esperanza offers the rental of a shared flat with 3 individual bedrooms. The flat has a living-dining room, kitchen, bathroom, toilets, internet connection and all basic services. It is located in the residential area, close to the office on a main avenue where there are different public transport networks. Nearby there are hospitals, shops, restaurants. A few blocks away, the volunteer can find transport to different parts of the city. In terms of food, there are several restaurants in the area that offer a wide variety of food at average costs, corresponding to various food regimes.
Training during the activity
Trainings in the topics such as: systems for measuring effects and impacts, advocacy on policies for the inclusion of migrant populations, people with disabilities, children and indigenous peoples. This theoretical learning can be linked to the accompaniment of advocacy spaces such as the tables of the National Coordinator of Human Rights on issues of disability and mental health and work around children's rights and migration. Participant profile
A volunteer who shares values of justice and solidarity, who orients his/her actions in favour of people in vulnerable situations, especially the population with whom Paz y Esperanza works. Knowledge of and commitment to human rights, preferably with an emphasis on gender justice, and knowledge of the current Latin American context. Have skills in: statistical development and audiovisual archiving; systematisation of experiences and work with populations of diverse cultures and thoughts. Previous work with sociological projects and capitalization of experience will be valued.
