Description
The Youth Services has 10 youth houses (NuortenTalo) around the city. Youth houses are meeting places for young people between ages 12 - 28 to meet friends and spend free time in a safe environment. SporttiTalo Lehdokki is specialized in sports. The activities in these youth houses include clubs, classes, concerts, trips, camps. Activities are planned and executed together with professional youth councelors and the young people themselves. Our volunteers work also part of their working time in Youth Center Ankkapurha or youth workshop Viitakumpu. Youth workshops are places where unemployed young people between ages 16 - 28 have a chance to work, learn the ground rules of the working life and improve their social skills. Modalités d'hébergement, de restauration et de transport
- accomodation with other two volunteers and 1-2 international exchange students in one fully equipped apartment with shared bathroom and kitchen. (Adress: Kouvolankatu 28). All volunteers and students have a single room of their own. - pocket money of 6 €/day, food allowance of 230 €/month - Finnish language course - monthly ticket for the local transport - insurance - 70 % reimbursement of the international travel costs (according distance band, two ways) - organizational and personal support
Formation pendant l’activité
The volunteer will take part in two trainings: On Arrival Training in Villa Elba, Kokkola and Mid Term training in Sopukka, Sipoo. Both trainings are organized by the Finnish national office.
Profil du participant
We are looking for two young persons between 18 - 30 who are able to conversate in English, interested in youth work and like to play board games, pool, table tennis etc and communicate with young people. The most important activity is to get in contact with the young visitors in our youth clubs, Youth Center Ankkapurha and youth workshop Viitakumpu. The volunteer should be interested in promoting ESC, managing the social media of the Youth Services, produce photos, videos and other informative material. Having some knowledge of digital/online gaming would be great. We are hosting three volunteers. This opportunity is only for EU-citizens. -
