Plus forts ensemble

Be part of the International Relations Office team at the Christian Bourquin high school in Argelès sur mer in the south of France for the Erasmus program

Lycée Polyvalent Christian Bourquin

Argelès sur mer, France

Description

The aim of the assignment will be to run the school's International Relations Office. The school has an Erasmus+ programme which covers all pupils and students (1,000 pupils). There are therefore several missions: 1) create events on the theme of the European Union to raise young people's awareness of European citizenship. 2) to prepare pupils and students for their future Erasmus+ mobility, particularly with regard to travel arrangements 3) Helping to welcome foreign delegations, many of whom come to the school. 4) Helping young European students who come to the school for an immersion course. You'll need to be in contact with young pupils and students aged between 14 and 20. You'll also have to work with the 6-member International Relations Office team. Fluency in French (B1, B2, C1 level) is desirable

Modalités d'hébergement, de restauration et de transport

The school offers on-site accommodation and there is the option of 3 meals a week in the canteen. Perpignan railway station provides links to the surrounding towns and Barcelona. In Argelès, there are free shuttle buses to the village.

Formation pendant l’activité

The volunteer will have the opportunity to attend 2 compulsory seminars with other European volunteers, halfway through the assignment and towards the end. If the volunteer wishes to enrol in a training course, he or she will of course be free to do so, particularly as part of the Erasmus+ programme. At the lycée, if the volunteer so wishes, he or she can have French lessons with a specialist teacher or in another language. Fluency in French (B1, B2, C1 level) is desirable

Profil du participant

We're looking for a young person who is dynamic, motivated and independent, with a good feel for dealing with both young people and adults. We want future volunteers to be able to put forward ideas and projects, and to be free to do so. We're looking for a young person who wants to get involved in the life of the school, who is a good team player and who wants to bring a European perspective to our school. We don't need someone who is shy or introverted, but someone who enjoys contact with others. As we are part of a consortium, there will be 3 or 4 volunteers in the department, and we want them to be able to exchange ideas with each other. Finally, we would like the volunteer to stay at the lycée to make travelling easier. The flat is brand new and very spacious. Fluency in French (B1, B2, C1 level) is desirable (Please note that when we send you a reply, our e-mail sometimes appears in the SPAM folder)
