"The Body Rock" is a 20 years hip-hop jam which is organised in Napoli, in Barra a neighborhood in the East periphery of Napoli, promoted by TCK Movement, one of the oldest hip-hop crew in Napoli. The jam promotes all the Street Arts disciplines (break dance, DJing, writing, MCing) involving artists from at local, national and international level. The festival lasts two days and will be held in a former school. The project aim is to support the festival through urban regeneration activities to make the public spaces better and cleaner. During the volunteering camp there will be the following activities: cleaning actions; maintenance of green areas, painting the walls to make them clean and allow the international writers who come to the festival to make their graffiti; promoting the hip-hop jam among the community; designing posters with positive messages about the environment to install in the public park.
Modalités d'hébergement, de restauration et de transport
Participants will be hosted in a cultural hub (Art.33) in San Giovanni a Teduccio a neighborhood in the East periphery of Napoli. The place usually hosts volunteering camps. The rooms where the participants will sleep are mixed. The building has a large kitchen and a big living room. The volunteers will live and work for 14 days in the area of the eastern suburbs of Naples, once an industrial area of the city. They don't need public transportation for the activities. Anyway, the accommodation is connected with the city centre through the metro line number 1
Formation pendant l’activité
During the volunteering team project the participants will have intercultural workshops, they will get to know better the community through some non-formal activities and they will also learn more about the hip-hop culture and the Street Arts. However, they will be guided in the activities of valorisation of the public spaces where we are going to work for making them fruible to the community during and after the two days festival.
Profil du participant
This call is open to all young people aged between 18 and 30 years old. We generally look for volunteers who are dynamic, creative, sociable, patient, able to work in a team, sociable, flexible, and creative who can be interested to be involved in an urban regeneration action and in participating in a hip-hop festival. However, we also look for volunteers who like work with social media o video-making. Nevertheless, strong motivation, willingness to see and to do something new, curiosity about the world and other cultures are welcome :)
