Gender-Focused Project & Communication Officer at Alianza Colombia (Santander de Quilichao, Dept. del Cauca) - Humanitarian Volunteer

FUNDACION ALIANZA POR LOS DERECHOS, LA IGUALDAD Y LA SOLIDARIDAD INTERNACIONAL

Santander de Quilichao, Colombia

Description

The volunteer will participate in cooperation and humanitarian aid projects with a gender-focused approach and an emphasis on empowering vulnerable women. Within this framework, they will contribute to project formulation, the preparation of interim and final reports, the submission of change requests when necessary, and the management of relevant information to justify actions. Additionally, they will coordinate with other organizations and donors. Furthermore, the volunteer will support the communication area, assisting in field activities to gather key information, such as life stories, interviews, photos, and videos. Additionally, they will assist in the monitoring and implementation of the organization's Protection Against Sexual Exploitation, Abuse, and Harassment (PSEAH) policies. Through both areas of work, the volunteer will engage in field activities to collect information and support the implementation of project actions.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

You will have the opportunity to live in a shared house with other volunteers, where you will have your own private room and access to shared services, Wi-Fi, and a mobile communication card. The residence is close to the office, offers easy access to local transportation, and allows you to engage with the communities where we carry out our projects.

Training during the activity

You will gain knowledge about the project cycle in development cooperation and/or humanitarian aid, as well as receive specialized training in feminist leadership, logical framework methodology, and other key areas. The training will also provide you with the tools to understand the importance of a gender-focused approach as a cross-cutting and essential strategy for driving meaningful societal change. Additionally, you will learn about the mechanisms currently implemented by international cooperation efforts to prevent harm and abuse of power both within and beyond organizations.
