Volunteering at a Secondary School in Alzira

Description
We are looking for volunteers interested in the field of teenage education. Our school caters for students aged 12-18 and is located in Alzira (Valencia), Spain. School volunteers are expected to support teachers in lessons: giving cultural presentations about their country of origin and about their studies, help students with the new software (Microsoft Teams), update the school website, make small computer repairs in classrooms and be youth assistants at the school. They will also be required in other tasks as taking charge of the school library, participating in the school extra-curricular activities and other administrative tasks. We are looking for candidates with a good level of Spanish and English to facilitate communication with teachers and students at the school. Our school covers European projects such as Portfolio and Erasmus students mobilities in Europe.
Modalités d'hébergement, de restauration et de transport
We have a local agency IDEA, depending on the city council, which organizes everything regarding transport, accomodation and food.
Formation pendant l’activité
As for training, the volunteer will attend a national training seminar for 2 weeks and will be offered an observation period at school before acting out as a volunteer. A tutor will mentor him/her on a weekly basis. The local agency IDEA also offers Spanish and/or Valencian language lessons.
Profil du participant
A volunteer working at school must be willing to work in education matters, have foreign language skills, be keen on sports and games with youngsters, be skilled with digital tools and media resources, and above all, be a referent for our students and motivate them to become a volunteer once they finish school with us.
