Description
- to educate society about autism as diagnoses and about life of autistic people and how they can help - to provide meaningful ways for autistic people can spent their free time. - help autistic people have better skills to include themselves into society - provide inclusive and international volunteer experience for slovak youth as well as for ESC volunteers - Operation of the community center in Bratislava for people with autism and their families. - Social rehab and worklife skills and self-service enhancements activities for specific clients with ASD in the community center to increase independence of autistic individuals. - organise gatherings for our members and extended community. This volunteering opportunity is for 4 months (120 days). It needs to be finished by the end of May.
Modalités d'hébergement, de restauration et de transport
Long-term volunteers accommodation is located in Petržalka, Bratislava. Apartment is not particularly modern however has good condition for living. There are fully equipped three bedrooms in the flat. Two separate ones and one for two people, also fully equipped living room, kitchen, bathroom and balcony. Volunteers receive monthly food and pocket money. Also travel expenses within their place of operation (Bratislava) is fully covered, they are provided with city transportation card, that allows them unlimited access to all modes of city public transportation.

Profil du participant
We are glad to host volunteers: who are motivated to learn and share their knowledge and expertise through the ESC opportunity. We do not expect specific titles related to this work field, but there are few characteristics that are really important for a potential volunteer, for instance: - Outgoing and cheerful, respectful, empathetic and open-minded personality; - Creative and innovative personality, willing to learn and grow in new areas, take the road less traveled; - Responsible and trustworthy; - Good level of communication and interpersonal skills; - Team-player yet able to work independently; - Resilience, patience and ability to address openly and respectfully any challenges faced; - Interested in sports; -Lead young people with autism to physical activities and sports - athletics, cycling, skiing, bowling and other physical activities e.g. hiking -Good in English language. We would also be interested in volunteers with practical skills (like sewing, crafting, cooking, music, etc.) who could share their abilities with clients. Additionally, young people with knowledge in the fields of management and/or economics could be welcome.
