Description
We are looking for a dedicated volunteer to fill the role of Security Officer. Your responsibilities will include monitoring violent events, security incidents, and humanitarian access issues, and recording them in the Kobo application. You will assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual narrative reports. Additionally, you will provide security training to internal staff twice a year and support the updating of security and humanitarian access policies. You will monitor the safety of other volunteers, approve travel and weekend trips to various regions, and collaborate on developing risk analyses and associated tools for missions. This role involves engaging with local stakeholders and assisting in preparing workshops on humanitarian access and protection by presence. Finally, you will handle confidential information securely and in accordance with the organization’s policies and procedures.

You will have the opportunity to live in a welcoming family home with your own private room, access to shared services, and Wi-Fi. We provide a mobile communication card for your convenience. Your residence will be close to the office, with easy access to local transportation. You'll also have the chance to interact with communities and various stakeholders in the areas where we carry out our projects.
Formation pendant l’activité
As a volunteer, you will gain valuable insights into security, humanitarian access, and protection through hands-on experience and by preparing reports and workshops. You will learn about the social and geographical realities of Colombia, developing a global perspective on the work of an international organization in the country. You will learn to manage the safety of other volunteers and coordinate field missions, building relationships with key civil society stakeholders. You will work in an environment that values initiative, participating in field activities and project implementation.
Profil du participant
We are looking for someone with knowledge in security, humanitarian access, and protection, along with strong analytical, organizational, and writing skills. Master's degrees in security, peace, and conflict studies are highly valued. A genuine interest in the field, intercultural dialogue skills, and respect for humanitarian principles are essential. The ideal candidate should demonstrate initiative and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Willingness to work in high-risk contexts and occasional travel is necessary. A high level of Spanish is required, and other languages such as English are highly valued.
