Participant profile
We are seeking enthusiastic volunteers to contribute to Youth Coop's initiatives, primarily supporting the creation of the "CircuLar" space and engaging in youth and community development activities for five months as part of the European Solidarity Corps program. The ideal candidate should have a strong interest in environmental issues, sustainability, and circular economy principles, with the motivation to learn and actively contribute to creating a positive impact on the community. Volunteers should possess a sense of initiative and self-organization for working on personal projects, and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups, including community members, other volunteers, and local organizations. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential for fostering a positive and inclusive environment. A creative mindset and willingness to engage in practical activities such as building furniture from recycled materials, organizing environmental awareness workshops, or participating in community clean-up efforts are highly valued. Experience in crafting, carpentry, or DIY projects is a plus but not mandatory. Volunteers should have a strong sense of responsibility and commitment to the project's goals and timelines, being reliable, punctual, and able to dedicate their time and energy to achieving the objectives of Urban Act IV. Skills or background in crafts, arts, DIY, engineering, technology, IT, electronics, recycling, graphic or product design, ecology, etc., are beneficial but not mandatory. We will find a way to integrate volunteers through their knowledge, background, and interests. We aim to provide an international experience for young people who wish to volunteer with us and contribute to Youth Coop's mission and projects in various ways. Volunteering offers a valuable learning opportunity and a chance to make a positive impact on the community by supporting non-profit social initiatives and organisations. It is important to note that volunteering is neither an internship nor a solution for replacing human resources or undertaking high-responsibility tasks within the organisation. At Youth Coop, we strive to align the profiles of our participants with the needs and opportunities for contribution within our organisation and the community spaces where we operate. Volunteers will assist the organisation by committing to a full-time volunteering schedule of 30 to 38 hours a week, including training activities. They will have two consecutive days off each week, plus two days of vacation per month, pre-scheduled with the organisation.
