Corps européen de solidarité

Plus forts ensemble

The Maison des Jeunes et de la Culture (MJC) Croix Daurade is a popular education association. It contributes to the entertainment of the neighborhood, offers amateur practice workshops for everyone and welcomes children and young people.

MJC Croix-Daurade

Toulouse, France

Description

The volunteer will support the implementation of actions dedicated to children and young people, while promoting the transversality of actions with the other centers of the MJC. The proposed actions are collective and focused in particular on work around youth citizenship and taking into account current societal issues. The objective is to enable young people to become aware of certain issues, to be able to express them and finally to find ways to act (through culture, commitment, volunteering, etc.). The volunteer will also be required to bring intercultural exchange projects to life and promote mobility, particularly European mobility. The MJC de Croix Daurade is one of two MJCs in Toulouse which will each welcome a European volunteer. The MJCs will set up regular meetings between volunteers so that they can, ultimately, work on a common project. The mission we offer is very varied in terms of activity.

Modalités d'hébergement, de restauration et de transport

The volunteer is hosted in a shared apartment in Toulouse with its own room. Meals are paid for by the volunteer, who receive pocket money for this purpose. The MJC will pay for a subscription to the Toulouse bus and metro network, as well as a discount card for trains.

Formation pendant l’activité

There will be two seminars for volunteers: one upon arrival, one mid-term. The volunteer will have French lessons once a week. The volunteer will be supervised by his tutor. In-house training may also be offered depending on the technical needs linked to the projects.

Profil du participant

We are looking for a volunteer who wants to work with the public, particularly children and adolescents. A person who is dynamic, curious and who actively participates in the life of the association and the team. We are looking for a person who proposes actions, projects which promote the involvement of children and young people, who value their words and which give them the means to act.
