Description

We are looking for volunteers to get involved in extracurricular activities of the school, related to supporting students, as well as activity in the local community. The 5th General Secondary School is one of the largest schools in Częstochowa. The institution has good local infrastructure and committed teaching staff. We plan to focus our activities in 3 areas: 1. Support for extracurricular activities of the school community (help in organizing celebrations, projects ). 2. Volunteer support for those in need and people with special needs (collection campaign for those in need, organization of classes, artistic performances, lectures for people with fewer opportunities) 3. Educational, linguistic and intercultural support for students. (participation in language lessons as a native speaker, lectures at school about the culture of the volunteer's country, ecology, organisation activities after classes for willing students, help with learning. https://www.vmickiewicz.pl/

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

The coordinating organisation will accommodate volunteers in a city dormitory. The organisation will provide meals at the accommodation, or the volunteer will receive additional money for meals. Volunteers will receive a monthly ticket for public transport. The coordinating organisation will also cover the costs associated with the activities planned by the volunteers. The volunteer will also receive pocket money from the coordinating organisation, in accordance with the ESC pay table. The volunteer will also receive a travel allowance according to the ECS settlem.

Training during the activity

Volunteers will participate in a preparatory training (online) before leaving for the destination and after arrival in an introductory training aimed at familiarising them with the facility, organisational matters, volunteer tasks and dealing with potential crisis situations.

Participant profile

We are looking for volunteers from European Union countries, ready to cooperate with high school youth, also open to working with the elderly, disabled and younger children. Creative, enterprising, committed people who easily establish contacts, open to various challenges are welcome. However, we do not close ourselves off to people who would like to acquire these soft skills. The most important thing is commitment, conscientiousness and willingness to cooperate in carrying out the assigned tasks.
