Bite the snow, taste the green 2025 / working in Finnish Youth Centre

Ankkapurhan kulttuurisäätiö

Anjala, Finlande

Description

Project takes place in Kouvola, Finland in the beautiful milieu of Ankkapurha Youth Centre surrounded by nature. It is designed for two volunteers. Project is connected to daily work of Ankkapurha Youth Centre. Volunteer’s main job is to work with youth workers planning, organizing, and instructing youth groups. Volunteer may also work with the staff from other sectors: kitchen, cleaning and janitor when there is no instructing to do or there is a need for extra hands. Instructing work happens among the local youngsters in camp schools and other children/youth camps. Volunteers will have a chance to help us invent new programs or activities. That way we offer volunteers a chance to give something from themselves and their culture to Youth Centre’s work community and to our young customers while learning about Finnish culture. Project includes also organizing a spring event with ESC-team for children and youth. The volunteers are not left alone while working.

Modalités d'hébergement, de restauration et de transport

Accommodation is arranged at Ankkapurha in a cozy apartment including living room with one double bed, upstairs bedroom with two single beds, bathroom and kitchen. Both volunteers will be sharing the same apartment and may make the living arrangements together. There is a possibility to use bicycles, sauna, Lappish hut, game room and game arena on free time. Work happens mainly in the youth centre and requires no transportation. If there is a need to move outside the center it will be arranged by staff of youth centre. On working days lunch will be served in the youth centre’s restaurant.

Formation pendant l’activité

Arrival training will be organised.
