Description
1. Under the supervision of the programme coordinator, monitoring of the MEAL system and adaptation to changes in activities, context and donor monitoring and evaluation standards; - Supporting project teams in the management of case management tools and project reporting tools; - Adaptation of the Activity Info software for the monitoring and evaluation of the various projects carried out in Mauritania, in collaboration with the MdM MEAL Manager. - Active participation in the ‘MEAL Community of Practice’ under the responsibility of the MdM MEAL Manager (HQ) and alongside the MEAL managers of the various MdM delegations; 2. Capacity building for staff and partners in monitoring and evaluation, Data entry software management; 3. Database interface, analysis and extraction - Identifying and correcting errors or inconsistencies in data entries and cleaning up the database; - Extract and process data entered to feed MdM reports and meet operational needs.
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
The work will take place at the MdM Mauritania office in Nouakchott. The volunteer will then be accommodated in the organisation's guesthouse. It is a quiet city, with several beaches, the general atmosphere in Nouakchott is good. However, it is recommended to be careful when travelling. The restaurants are identified to allow the volunteers to have a varied diet and to eat in good hygienic conditions. The volunteer will receive a monthly allowance of 534 € to cover their food and other expenses.
Training during the activity
Volunteers will improve their professional knowledge through training in humanitarian action, and specific issues on security, gender, psychosocial support and will be provided with training resources to continue their learning. Those selected will receive briefings/training at MdM headquarters in Madrid with the different departments related to the mission and the position, as well as mandatory online trainings before they start their field work. Training sessions will take place both in the countries of the support and host organisations.
Participant profile
- Degree in statistics, public health, social sciences, economics, humanitarian/development project management or other relevant training; - Good command of IT tools (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint); - Experience in monitoring-evaluation and database management highly appreciated; - Working knowledge of one or more programming languages used for data analysis and visualisation (Python, R) highly appreciated; - Familiarity with one or more database management tools; - Demonstrated interest in the issues of violence against women and girls, health law and human rights; - Excellent oral and written communication skills in French. Appreciated : - Arabic, local Mauritanian languages (Hassanya, Poulard, Soninke, Wolof), Spanish; - Previous experience in West Africa, the Sahel, the Maghreb or the Middle East; - Attention to detail and rigour in data management; - Curiosity and willingness to learn new technologies and methods.
