Description
The Path’s Museum project is an open-air museum where the hosting organization Balmes Blancs showcase the old trails of the Siarb Valley, in the Catalan Pyrenees.The project focuses in two main areas: running the “Refugi Vall de Siarb”, a small hostel in Llagunes, and helping with the organization of various types of work camps with national and international volunteers, to help restore and maintain the old paths in the valley. The volunteer will help out in both of these areas, and the contribution will be important in keeping the valley’s paths in good shape and allowing more people to discover and enjoy this special place. Modalités d'hébergement, de restauration et de transport
The volunteer will live in the Vall de Siarb shelter located in Llagunes, and sleep in a double room. To move around the valley, there is one local bus with limited schedule. Volunteer will receive pocket money for personal expenses throughout the duration of the activity, including holidays.
Formation pendant l’activité
The volunteers will participate in the ESC "Welcome training" in the beginning of the mobility, and later on, in the "Middle term evaluation" training. They will attend specific training from Balmes Blancs team.
Profil du participant
We are looking for a motivated and adaptable volunteer with a positive attitude and strong teamwork skills. The ideal candidate will be open-minded, able to demonstrate flexibility in various situations and environments, and ready to take on a variety of tasks. Comfort with working hands-on and using basic tools is essential, including tasks such as cutting bushes, building drywall stones, and other manual work. The volunteer should be willing to perform physically demanding tasks with enthusiasm and dedication. Strong communication skills are important, as well as the ability to work cooperatively with others. A proactive approach and a strong desire to contribute to the success of the project are key traits for this role. The volunteer should be interested in living in a rural area, specifically in the small village of Llagunes, located in the Pyrenees. Llagunes is a quiet and charming village with about 15-20 inhabitants, offering a unique and peaceful environment for those looking to immerse themselves in nature and a close-knit community.
