Football Club Union Plaani is excited to welcome European volunteers for a rewarding European Solidarity Corps (ESC) project in Heinola Finland from June 1st to September 30th, 2025. Our program focuses on promoting low-threshold sports activities, strengthening community engagement, and supporting youth development through football and recreational events. What You’ll Do: Assist in organizing and running football training sessions and community sports events. Support our youth teams and help create an inclusive sports environment. Participate in local projects such as summer camps and youth football , which encourage active lifestyles for all ages. Engage with the local community and experience Finnish sports culture firsthand. What We Offer: Accommodation and food expenses covered, monthly allowance (210€) and travel reimbursement according to ESC program rules. A chance to gain valuable coaching and community work experience in a welcoming team environment.

Modalités d'hébergement, de restauration et de transport

Accommodation, Food, and Transport Arrangements Volunteers will stay in a shared apartment at Hostel Valo, offering a comfortable living space with private rooms and shared kitchen and living facilities. Each volunteer will receive a 200 € gift card to a local supermarket per month to cover food expenses. They will have access to a fully equipped kitchen in the accommodation to prepare their own meals. Volunteers will be provided with bicycles for transportation during the project. The bike will be their main mode of transport for commuting between accommodation and work.

Formation pendant l’activité

Training During the Opportunity Volunteers will receive comprehensive training and support throughout the ESC project to ensure a meaningful and enriching experience. Initial Orientation • Introduction to Union Plaani, its projects, and the local community. • Practical information about living in Finland, local culture, and daily life. • Safety guidelines and expectations during the volunteer period. Sports & Coaching Training • Basic football coaching skills and training methodologies. • How to organize and lead low-threshold sports activities for different age groups.

Profil du participant

Who Can Apply? • Aged 18–30 and eligible for the European Solidarity Corps (ESC) program. • Interested in football, sports, youth work, and community engagement. • Open-minded, responsible, and ready to work in a team environment. • Ability to communicate in English (basic level is enough). • Willing to adapt to a new culture and learn basic Finnish for daily communication. • Able to commit to the full volunteering period (1.6.–30.9.2025). Preferred but Not Required: • Experience in football, coaching, sports, or organizing events is a plus. • Interest in outdoor activities and an active lifestyle. This opportunity is perfect for those who want to gain hands-on experience in sports coaching, event planning, and community work while immersing themselves in Finnish culture.
