Description
Merhamet is a Serbian organization with 33 years of commitment to assisting people in need. Their work focuses on providing humanitarian assistance and socio-economic empowerment to vulnerable groups. During your volunteering experience, you will engage in the following tasks: 1) Engaging with the community, understanding their needs and challenges, and planning educational and psychosocial activities, 2) Facilitating workshops and activities that support the advancement of youth, 3) Conducting outreach and strategizing to identify families who may benefit from available services and encouraging them to participate in our programs, 4) Providing support and guidance to youth and families, 5) Providing support for the programming department // THIS IS A 9-MONTH DEPLOYMENT WITH FLEXIBLE START DATE. INTERVIEWS WILL BE CONDUCTED ON A ROLLING BASIS.
Modalités d'hébergement, de restauration et de transport
The volunteer will be provided with a lockable and safe place, with a bedroom, kitchen, and bathroom in the city center near the office premises. They might share the place with another volunteer. In addition to receiving accommodation, the volunteer will receive an adequate monthly allowance to cover other daily expenses such as meals, local transportation, communication, and other living necessities. Public transport is not commonly used, and the volunteer can use bicycles, walk, or even use public electric scooters.
Formation pendant l’activité
The volunteer will attend a pre-departure training to prepare for the opportunity, as well as an on-arrival training which will introduce the participants to the host country. Along with Code of Conduct orientation and Safeguarding Children and Vulnerable Adults training, Merhamet can provide training on the Project Cycle Management to enable better understanding of programming and conducting activities. Volunteers will be offered the opportunity to participate in other Merhamet’s capacity-building activities.
Profil du participant
The volunteer should be culturally adaptive in humanitarian and social development settings and have experience working with children or vulnerable groups. Commitment to supporting vulnerable populations is highly valued. Strong time management, proactivity, and teamwork are essential.
