If you are a Horse Lover then this activity is for you!!! Pythia is working together with Katsiti-Horse-Academy to provide a unique opportunity for you. What you will learn from this activity? • Behavior and welfare of horses • Mucking out the horses • Grooming -Taking care of horses • Nutrition and feeding • Tack and equipment • Work horses from the ground / exercise them by hand • Guide a horse in therapeutic riding • Guide horses in hacking out at the fields or at the beach at summer time • Events with activities around horses like: - paint horse shoes - draw faces of children - teach children to tack up horses - organise theoretical information’s around horses and provide them to the audience • Yard and stable management The paddock e.g. fencing, safety, shelter, - Suitable watering arrangement - Grasses, fertilization and pasture management - Suitable care of grass
Modalités d'hébergement, de restauration et de transport
We provide accommodation in Kokkinohoma Kavalas. Capital can be accesed by local transportation and is 12 km by bus. We provide breakfast, lunch meal and light dinner per day with local traditional food to the volunteer and a bedroom to share with other volunteers. Each room has personal bathroom. We provide WiFi and a travel card to be used for the activity.
Formation pendant l’activité
Pythia provides extra Greek courses for the volunteers that want to get a degree in the Greek language. Exams given every May in Thessaloniki in Greece but also there are numerous places arround Europe to have this examination at the same time like Greece (every May).
Profil du participant
Pythia invites any partipant that loves the animals and more specific the Horses to involve in this activity. No previous knowledge required.
