Help give socially disadvantaged children in Romania better opportunities! On this volunteer project, you will support a local school in preparing and designing English lessons. During the summer months, you can give the children an unforgettable time at summer camp. With your help, they will discover and develop their passions and motivation for learning! Many students lack the motivation to learn English. In particular, families from disadvantaged social classes often lack the financial means to afford tutoring for their children, for example. Likewise, many students in the region do not have many opportunities to spend the long summer vacations meaningfully. With this project, the organization aims to help disadvantaged children improve their English and build their self-confidence. Creative lessons and games are used to motivate learning. In class and at the summer camp, children can develop both their language and social skills in a playful way.

Formación durante la actividad
A wide range of varied tasks await you in this social volunteer project. Of course, the main focus is on preparing lessons and activities for children between the ages of 6 and 16. These can be things like flashcards, songs or crosswords. By teaching English in an entertaining and playful way, the children are more attentive and motivated. You are not expected to teach entire lessons, but to act as a support. If, on the other hand, you already have teaching experience, you can discuss with the teacher whether you can take on longer sections of the lesson.
Perfil del participante
- Be punctual and stick to the schedule you have worked out with other volunteers - Use friendly and positive language (please avoid swearing) - Think about what music you will play for the children beforehand - Don't make promises to the children that you might not be able to keep - Do not smoke or drink in front of the children - Don't let the children use your cell phone - this has led to numerous fights between the children in the past For the first lesson, it is advisable to introduce your country and yourself. Bring typical and traditional things from your home country and turn the lesson into a “show-and-tell” event.
