Description
Over 35years that GDCA has mapped out long-term prospects to raise funds and resources to ensure its continuous existence in bringing education and opportunities to the vulnerable and marginalised in society. Digital literacy is key for accessing information, communication, and jobs. The Digital Literacy Advisor will equip youth and women with essential digital skills, fostering innovation, employability, and entrepreneurship while bridging the digital divide. GDCA supports youth and women empowerment through vocational training. The advisor will integrate digital skills into these programs to prepare participants for the workforce and evolving technologies. Tasks: Deliver digital literacy training Guide participants in using digital tools Identify digital needs and design tailored training Integrate digital skills into vocational programs Monitor and evaluate impact Develop digital learning resources Promote digital literacy for empowerment
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
GDCA will organize accommodation close the office as possible, comprising a self-contained apartment with soft furnishing and with individual bath and toilet facilities. Basic kitchen facilities will be provided. GDCA will provide transport for official duties. The personal movement and food of the volunteer will be borne by the volunteer under the framework of the agreement of the volunteer programme.
Training during the activity
The BRIDGE project (Building Resilience, Innovation, Development, and Gender Equality) enables volunteers to empower vulnerable communities, focusing on women and digital skills. They will attend UN Women Summits, lead digital workshops, and support skills development. Key topics include digital literacy, gender diversity, leadership in tech, digital safety, and financial literacy for digital entrepreneurship. The project promotes social cohesion, inclusion, and digital empowerment in a rapidly evolving world.
Participant profile
Candidates must be 18 to 35 years old, reside in one of the eligible countries (EU Member State, North Macedonia, Iceland, Liechtenstein or Turkey), have completed the compulsory Humanitarian Aid Volunteering training and not have participated before in individual Humanitarian Aid Volunteering. When adding together this new volunteering opportunity and any previous participation in EU volunteering programmes, the total duration cannot exceed 12 months. Qualifications and Skills: 1. Appreciated Educational Qualifications: Degree in information technology, Computer Science, Education, Social Sciences, or a related field 2. Desired Experience: - Experience in digital skills training, technology education, or community development is highly desirable - Experience working with youth, women, or marginalized groups is an advantage. - Previous experience in NGOs, social enterprises, or governmental projects related to digital inclusion is a plus. 3. Skills and Competencies: Technical Skills: Proficiency in using digital tools, software, and online platforms. Communication Skills: Ability to explain technical concepts in simple terms and engage diverse audiences. Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize activities, and meet deadlines. Interpersonal Skills: Empathy, active listening, and the ability to build rapport with participants. Problem-Solving and Critical Thinking: Ability to address challenges and adapt training methods to meet participants’ needs. Cultural Sensitivity: Awareness and respect for cultural differences, especially when working with underserved populations. Data Management Skills: Experience in collecting and analyzing data for program monitoring and evaluation. Knowledge of Digital Inclusion Frameworks: Familiarity with local and international initiatives promoting digital literacy and inclusion.
