Description
Avlija održivog razvoja d.o.o. is a social enterprise for professional rehabilitation and employment of persons with disabilities, established by Caritas Šabac. For over 20 years, Caritas Šabac has combined social protection services and social entrepreneurship, creating employment opportunities for marginalized groups. As one of the leading social enterprises in Serbia and the region, it enables beneficiaries to develop work skills, independence, and employability. The concept of Avlija održivog razvoja started in 2015 through occupational therapy programs, where beneficiaries engaged in agriculture and food production. Today, Avlija održivog razvoja is a fully operational social enterprise that includes: An ethno restaurant, A kitchen for food production, A fruit and vegetable processing facility, A distillery, Greenhouses for vegetable cultivation, Hospitality and tourism services.
Modalités d'hébergement, de restauration et de transport
The volunteer will be provided with an apartment where they can look after themselves. In Sabac itself, volunteers will find everything they need for their daily lives.
Formation pendant l’activité
The volunteers receive appropriate training in all relevant tasks and are supported by the local team.
Profil du participant
• Providing friendly and professional service to guests in the ethno restaurant. • Taking orders accurately, delivering food and beverages in a timely manner. • Ensuring guest satisfaction by maintaining a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere. • Assisting and working alongside persons with disabilities, fostering a supportive work environment. • Keeping the dining area clean, organized, and properly set up. • Handling payments and transactions when necessary. • Communicating effectively with kitchen staff and management to ensure smooth service. • Following hygiene and safety standards at all times. • Assisting in restaurant events or special hospitality services as needed. Required Qualifications & Skills: - Proficiency in English (mandatory). - Knowledge of BHS languages (Bosnian, Croatian, Serbian) is an advantage. - Previous experience as a waiter/waitress in a restaurant, café, or hotel (preferred). - Strong communication and customer service skills. - Empathy, patience, and willingness to work with persons with disabilities. - Ability to work in a team and under pressure. - Attention to detail and a proactive attitude.
